Help your child become a confident reader, writer and speller.
I'm Dominique, a literacy and dyslexia specialist on the Gold Coast. I use Multisensory Structured Language therapy to target the underlying causes of reading and spelling difficulties, in a neuro-affirming space built for diverse learners.
Places are limited each term. Priority is given to families already on the waitlist. Enquiring early is worth it.
Hello, it is so lovely to have you here!
I am Dominique and I am a literacy and dyslexia specialist on the Gold Coast. I am dedicated to helping individuals become confident readers, writers and spellers.
My intervention program is based on the latest evidence-based research and therapy, where I endorse the Multisensory Structured Language (MSL) therapy approach and elements of Sounds-Write and Word Origin programs. I have over a decade in education experience, and my passion is working with individuals with learning differences and disabilities.
My clinic and intervention program have been designed for all learners to thrive. I provide a neuro-affirming space for diverse learners, including those with dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADHD, autism, intellectual impairments and developmental delays. I also specialise in MSL therapy which is the gold-standard approach for remediating dyslexia and language-based learning difficulties.
As both a Mum and a PhD researcher, I understand that children need support that is scientifically sound but also deeply caring. Every program starts from each learner's strengths and profile rather than a fixed curriculum. I work with individuals both with and without a formal diagnosis.

Tutoring or MSL therapy?
It's the distinction that matters most, and the reason families are referred to me.
What is the difference between tutoring and MSL therapy?
While tutoring provides valuable support for keeping up with schoolwork, the MSL (Multisensory Structured Language) therapy I provide is a specialised intervention. Tutoring often focuses on immediate academic tasks set out by the school, whereas my approach targets the underlying processing difficulties, such as phonological awareness, that cause literacy gaps in the first place.
How does the MSL approach work?
Unlike general tutoring, the MSL approach I offer is systematic, cumulative, and multisensory. I engage sight, sound, and touch to help children build the strong neural pathways necessary for fluent reading. By moving beyond simple repetition, I address the cognitive and emotional factors that can impact a child's willingness to engage with learning.
Is literacy intervention right for my child?
The MSL approach I use is specifically designed for students who find reading, writing, and spelling consistently challenging. It is the evidence-based gold standard for children with dyslexia or those who haven't made progress with standard classroom instruction. I look at the whole child, addressing both the mechanics of literacy and the underlying processing hurdles.
What can you expect from MSL therapy?
By identifying and addressing the root cause of learning obstacles, I move beyond quick fixes to develop personalised treatment plans. The result is more than just better grades, it is the confidence and effective learning strategies your child needs for long-term academic success. I equip my students with the tools to become independent, lifelong learners.
Most families stay with me for years, and that's the point.
Families typically stay within intervention for a few years. Parents sit in on sessions so I can show you how to repeat the activities at home, which is how learning moves from working memory into long-term memory. I work alongside not just your child's school but their whole professional team, including occupational therapists, speech pathologists and others.

“In just two terms with Dominique, the change has been extraordinary. Not only has our daughter’s literacy improved dramatically, but the anxiety and fear that once surrounded reading and writing have completely lifted. For the first time, she is enjoying her literacy journey with confidence and pride. Dominique has given her so much more than skills, she’s given her belief in herself. We are incredibly grateful for the patience, encouragement, and expertise Dominique has brought into our daughter’s life.”

“Dominique is the most phenomenal Educational Specialist and her intervention has helped my son (8) improve in his reading, spelling and handwriting. We sign him out of school early to see her because we as well as his teachers can see the improvements from her intervention. Some teachers have even asked me to send through her contact so they can refer other students onto her. Thank you Miss Dominique 🙂”

“Can’t recommend Dominique highly enough, especially if you have a child that has additional learning needs that has fallen through the gaps at school. Knowing we have someone that is qualified, experienced, and is teaching SPELD recommended programs is worth it. It’s been such a weight off my shoulders being able to trust Dominique’s experience to guide us where we need to go. My child is making significant and noticeable progress, and I can’t wait to see where the literacy intervention will take her.”

“My son has been working with Dominique for a couple of years and she has been fantastic. She is patient, calm, and incredibly engaging. Tuition never feels like a chore, my son genuinely enjoys his sessions. Dominique understands that he is a visual learner and uses drawings and visual cues to support sounds and spelling. We’ve seen a huge improvement in his reading, which now flows with much more confidence. We highly recommend Dominique to anyone looking for literacy support or intervention.”

“If I could give more than 5 stars I would! We have had the best experience with Dominique and we have gone through many many tutors over the years. Our daughter adores her and the improvement she has made in such a short time proves that our tutor is an expert in her field. I wish I found Dominique sooner however very happy that we have now.”
